Fantasy Football: Replacing Jamaal Charles Won’t Be Easy

Last Sunday the Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles suffered a season ending injury leaving Fantasy Football owners searching for a replacement. It’s difficult to find a high quality running back off of the waiver wire but let’s see if we can’t find one or two off of the waiver wire for you to use in week six!

Who’s Hot

RB: Thomas Rawls Seattle Seahawks (FanDuel $6,400, Draft Kings $4,800) Rawls has had a good rookie season rushing for 328 yards on 69 carries for a touchdown and he’s busted loose for a 69 yard run. The Seahawks don’t use Rawls in their passing game but with Marshawn Lynch out Rawls is the number one man and is available in 50 percent of all Major Fantasy Football leagues. He has tough matchup this week at home against a Carolina Panthers defense that ranks 6th in the NFL against the run.

RB: Chris Thompson Washington Redskins (FanDuel $5,100, Draft Kings $3,300) I wouldn’t necessarily say Thompson has been hot but I would say he’s been consistant as the 3rd down back for the Washington Redskins. He does run the ball and has 108 yards on 14 carries including a 42 yard run 2 weeks ago against the Eagles. Where he is valuable is as a receiver catching 17 catches out of the backfield for 124 yards and a touchdown. The Redskins face a tough test this week against the Jets who are 8th in the NFL against the run and 31st against the pass so maybe Thompson has a big game on Sunday. Thompson is available in over 90 percent of all Major Fantasy Football leagues.

RB: Charcandrick West Kansas City Chiefs (FanDuel $6,200, Draft Kings $4,000) Is the obvious choice to replace Charles and he is currently available in just over 45 percent of all Major Fantasy Football leagues. This season West has rushed for 48 yards on 7 carries and caught 2 passes for 9 yards this season. Sunday the Chiefs are in Minnesota to take on the Vikings and their 126 rushing allowed per game defense so maybe adding West is a good thing this week.
