Week seven of the Fantasy Football season is here and we are already nearing the halfway point of the season. There are still some excellent options sitting on the waiver wire this week just waiting to be picked up so lets get after it.
Teams with a bye this week include Green Bay, Chicago, Cincinnati and Denver.
Brian Hoyer is still available in over 90 percent of all Major Fantasy Football leagues and I don’t know how that can be. He’s now the #1 QB in Houston and all he’s done over the last three games is throw for 837 yards with 7 touchdowns and just one interception. This week Hoyer has a nice matchup against the Dolphins who allow 250 passing yards per game.
Blake Bortles is also available in just over 50 percent of all Major Fantasy Football leagues and has a nice matchup against the Bills on Sunday. The Bills allow 274 passing yards per game and Bortles has been solid over his last three games with 932 passing yards, 8 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. Jacksonville is the early Vegas favorite and with a 42 point over under expect some points being put on the board in this one.
Ryan Fitzpatrick has been solid lately and is available in just over 85 percent of all Major Fantasy Football leagues. This week he and the Jets have a tough matchup against division rival New England that allows 267 yards per game via the air. Over his last three games Fitzpatrick has thrown 5 interceptions but he’s also thrown 5 touchdowns and 754 yards and he’s also rushed for a touchdown. It might be a gamble but sometimes gambles do pay off.
Charles Sims is still available in just over 50 percent of all Major Fantasy Football leagues with the vital role he plays for the Bucaneers he is still valuable. Over the last three games Sims has rushed for 85 yards on 24 carries and has 9 catches for 156 yards and 2 touchdowns. This week Sims and the Bucs face the Washington Redskins that allow 118 yards per game on the ground. You may want to add Sims before someone else gets smart and snags him off of your waiver wire.
Christine Michael is available in just over 65 percent of all Major Fantasy Football leagues and while he’s only had just 2 attempts for 5 yards this season there seems to be a fumbling issue that has the Cowboys concerned enough that Michael is taking the most reps in practice this week as the Cowboys prepare for their week 7 matchup with 93 yards per game rushing defense of the NY Giants. Keep your eye on this situation and if he starts grab him.
Lance Moore is available in over 90 percent of all Major Fantasy Football leagues and he’s coming off consecutive touchdown games with 11 receptions for 161 yards in those 2 ballgames. The Lions play the Vikings that allow 251 yards per game to opponents receivers making Moore possibly a good addition this week.
Stefon Diggs has had 19 targets thrown his way for 216 yards and zero touchdowns over his last 2 games and lets not forget the 2 fumbles two weeks ago against Denver. That’s a lot of production for a receiver to be available in 95 percent of all Major Fantasy Football leagues. This week Diggs and the Vikings have a great matchup against a Detroit lions defense allowing receivers 281 yards per game. This could be another great add this week.
Cecil Shorts is available in just over 90 percent of Major Fantasy Football leagues and his matchup against a Dolphin pass defense that allows receivers 249 yards per game. Shorts has seen an average of 9 targets per game and over his last 3 games has 16 receptions for 208 yards and a touchdown. Shorts could also be a great add this week.
Benjamin Watson is available in over 90 percent of all Major Fantasy Football leagues and over the last 3 games he’s 10 passes for 108 yards and 2 touchdowns. This week the Saints play the Colts who allow receivers 296 yards per contest. Watson averages 4-5 targets per game so maybe he’ll make a great add this week.
