Fantasy Basketball: Five Top Plays for FanDuel for October 29, 2016

The NBA season at FanDuel is off to a flying start. The prices from the preseason have been adjusted to normal prices and some of the winning scores have been through the roof. We have eight games on the main slate tonight and I have five players that I think you will need to win some cash at FanDuel tonight.

New Orleans Pelicans PG Tim Frazier ($5300) is averaging 40.3 FanDuel points a night and getting 35 minutes a game as the starting point guard. The Pelicans are playing the second game of a back to back and it’s on the road but you will be hard pressed to find Frazier’s type of production at that price point. The Pelicans have the lowest implied total on the slate at 96.3 but that might have more to do with the possibility of Pelicans All-Star Anthony Davis sitting out Saturdays game than anything else.

Denver Nuggets SG Will Barton ($5200) is one of those types of boom or bust players that help you win large tournaments and he has a fun matchup tonight against the Portland Trail Blazers. Barton’s season is only one game old but he did get 35 minutes and did score 29 FanDuel points. He also started that game and may wind up coming off the bench tonight if SG Gary Harris is unable to suit up. Either way you play Barton with confidence tonight and watch Barton light his former teammates up like the Fourth of July.

San Antonio Spurs SF Kawhi Leonard ($8400) is averaging 51 FanDuel points in his first two games of the season. The San Antonio Spurs have the highest implied total on tonight’s slate (109.8). It’s also the home opener for the Spurs and the first game of a back to back (tomorrow the Spurs travel to Miami to play the Heat). Their opponent tonight is a New Orleans Pelicans team coming in 0-2 for the season and coming off a tough eight point loss to the Golden State Warriors on Friday night.

Minnesota Timberwolves PF Gorgui Dieng ($5700) is finally getting starters minutes and in 34 minutes against the Memphis Grizzlies he scored 37.8 FanDuel points. Tonight’s matchup is on the road against the Sacramento Kings. The Kings frontcourt is decent but they are no match for the tandem of Dieng and Karl-Anthony Towns. I would gladly pay $5700 bucks for 40 FanDuel points and that’s why I will be playing Dieng tonight.

Denver Nuggets C Jusef Nurkic ($4900) is probably the best player on the Nuggets. In his first game of the season he scored 39.3 FanDuel points in only 26 minutes of play. If one is to attack the Portland Trail Blazers Fantasy Basketball wise it’s through centers and shooting guards and tonight I am going to do just that with Nurkic and Barton.

Good luck at FanDuel!!
